Verónica González Mireles, Ph.D.
Analytical Scientist, Lab Operations
Specialist in Immunology from the National School of Biological Sciences at the National Polytechnic Institute, with a career dedicated to the study of the immune system and its applications in immunotherapy, biotechnology, and flow cytometry. Currently, she works at the Flow Cytometry Laboratory at Immunocine Cancer Center in Cancun, where she has spent one year monitoring and validating therapy in cancer patients.
With over four years of specialized experience in spectral multiparametric flow cytometry, she has focused her work on the characterization of cell populations and the evaluation of immune responses. Her training is complemented by expertise in molecular biology techniques, cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, and bioinformatics. Her scientific contributions have advanced the understanding of immunological mechanisms with therapeutic potential.
She did her Doctoral studies in Immunology at the National School of Biological Sciences, National Polytechnic Institute, focusing her research on the development of peptide-based therapies for the treatment of autoimmune diseases, primarily multiple sclerosis, using the murine model of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE).
She completed her Master of Science in Genomic Biotechnology at the Center for Genomic Biotechnology, National Polytechnic Institute, where she worked with bacteria with potential therapeutic use. She is a Biochemical Engineer with a specialization in Biotechnology from the Technological Institute of Tepic, where she developed her thesis project at CINVESTAV-IPN (Zacatenco campus) on bioethanol production from sugarcane derivatives.
Alongside her scientific training, she has six years of experience in the food industry, working in areas of quality and hygiene, regulatory compliance, and personnel development, which has given her a comprehensive perspective and strong skills in management and leadership. Her primary goal is to continue working closely with the laboratory team to expand knowledge about our therapy and help patients by providing useful information for the care of their health.
